Ambassador Dennis Awori to Chair Bank of Africa Board

Bank of Africa has picked former diplomat Dennis Awori to replace long serving Paul Derreumax as its new Chairman.

Ambassador Awori has previously served in other Executive positions including chairman of Toyota East Africa, Managing Director of Lonrho East Africa as well as a General Manager in charge of sales at Cooper Motor Corporation-CMC.He also served as Kenya’s Ambassador to Japan and Korea for a period of six years between the year 2004 and 2010. Bank of Africa Kenya Managing Director Kwame Ahadzi said the vast management experience Awori will be bringing to the Bank will greatly enhance its business. “I am confident that given his broad experience in the business and public spheres, Ambassador Awori will immensely contribute to the bank’s growth and expansion,” said Ahadzi. Awori who will be the first Kenyan to chair the bank’s board of directors  holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Manchester-UK and is a keen rugby player having chaired Kenya Rugby Football Union and the Uganda Rugby Football Union.
